A Message From Alderwoman Monet S. Wilson regarding the slanderous PPP mailer.
Once again, I’m taking from my day to address the tyrant toddler terrorizing this town. This tyrant puts the dirt in dirty politics. I love me some y’all but if I had pocketed $250k my house would be paid in full and for sale.
PPP, or Paycheck Protection Program, was a financial assistance initiative created by the U.S. government in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Its goal was to help small businesses keep their workforce employed during the crisis by providing forgivable loans to cover payroll costs and other essential expenses like rent, utilities, benefits, and interest payments.

My small businesses, except 1, are headquartered and run from my home. The City Council voted that we do not license home businesses. How many people have a business license who may sell jewelry or apparel from home? ZERO!

The only federal, municipal and News Media reports are about Thaddeus Jones being under federal investigation.

Four years ago, the Statement of Economic Interest rules were different for elected officials. Four years ago, I was not elected, I was the average hard working Calumet City resident I live next door to today, I was not required to mention my businesses.

She was appointed by Jones as the Economic Development Director. $$$$ Calumet City Taxpayers pay her salary.

She doesn’t mention that Jones paid for her campaign to get her elected to the Calumet Memorial Park District. She is a Park Board Commissioner who does not attend meetings. FOIA that!

She is the Library Board President, home to Jazz in the Grass-but no computers or books!
